How to bring down a system - The School

Well, I am writing an imaginary story, any characters resembling someone or something is purely a co-incidence.

I am fed up with the techniques I get to know every day from different sources on how can someone screw up an established system, so I decided to prepare a garland of these flowers which I will knit one by one. Here is one of the few flowers. You can use a knife to cut potatoes in kitchen, or to cut your own veins. The same rule applies to this story.

4. The School

It was a beautiful dusk when it was drizzling at my home town, we managed to get some pakoda and a glass full of tea. Sitting with me were of my friends, one of which was a teacher in a government primary school. so the interaction with him goes a under. 

 2 characters are me and sir.

News on TV, "10th results are out and ...% is the passing rate....."

me: Sir, when we graduated the passing percentage used to be near to 80%, now its shooting up near to 100. why?

sir: We used to study and pass, now its quiet easy.

me: syllabus is reduced?

Sir: yes, a lot. 

me: but still 100% result? 

sir: that is because most copy and pass.

me: i don't know, how can all get the copy chits. even if they get, they need courage.

sir: supervisor allows it. no courage needed.

me: even then, someone has to write it. all nearby photocopy centers are closed right. 

sir: well its not difficult to open a photocopy center and get the work done. 

me: hmmm, but question paper? or answers for what?

sir: that is available with the teachers involved in  opening the seal. 

me: why will they give out? corruption? 

(now he is almost pissed off)

sir: no, see... listen. when your increment in salary is dependent on the total passing percentage of students you are forced to this. 

Last time in English exam, passing percentage was least, all the English teachers were denied of their promotions and increments. Thats why we are forced to allow the students to copy. 

me: all supervisors do this?
sir: NO, only few.

me: (i didn't know what to say) then what is the solution for this?

sir: TRUST! 

Let there be a good minister who is from teaching field then some improvement can be seen. 

We work all day with the aim to make students life a better one, none of the governments recognize us, neither they trust us. 

Trust on the teachers is necessary, but most politicians don't understand this. they feel that tightening the rules make it better, Unnecessary rules and regulations screw up our entire education system.

me: Rules are also required right?

sir: Rules are required to select good people and induct them into the system. 

There should also be rules to kick someone out who is not good. But once recruited there is absolutely no exit policy now, until there is a criminal case. 

Trust us, we will make the future of our nation very bright. we really need good system now.I am sure we are capable of it. only thing is we need some space and respect.

(FULL STOP topic change....)

Well, again, this is leading to the system head. It is very unlikely that a sitting minister reads this post of mine. It is possible that some who reads this may appreciate the real problem. Few may rise to the level who can actually act on this. Someone could possibly become the advisor in any education department. See if you can do something about this problem. 

Everything cannot be pointed at the teachers and system. I will quote a contrast situation what is happening from the student's side in college in my next post.
